Help a Goth — written helpagoth in the address bar — is a public leaderboard for the goth and alt-fashion scene. Pay what you like, choose a display name, add your links and a photo, and your listing goes on the board, ranked against everyone else by USD-equivalent total.

Rank is arithmetic, not favour. Positions are ordered strictly by total paid, and the board recomputes itself the moment anyone moves. Taking #1 is the only position with a premium: you need 5% more than whoever currently holds it. Every other position needs a single cent more than the row below it.

You can pay in USD, INR, EUR or GBP. Everything is compared in USD-equivalent, converted at the rate on the day you paid and then fixed permanently to your listing, so a later swing in exchange rates never reshuffles the board.

It is not a charity, a fund, or a fundraiser, and it is not registered as a trust, society or non-profit. A payment buys a promotional listing and nothing else — there is no tax receipt, and no promise that the money is applied to any particular person, cause or purchase.

Sponsor tiles are the one place the money has a stated destination: they go toward the cost of running this site — hosting, payment processing and the domain. A sponsor tile earns no rank and does not affect anyone’s position.
