Straight answers about what helpagoth is, what a payment buys, and what it does not. If something here contradicts the Terms and Conditions, the Terms win.
- What is helpagoth?
helpagoth is a public leaderboard for the goth and alt-fashion scene. You pay for a promotional listing — a display name, your links, a photo and a short message — and the board ranks every listing by the USD-equivalent total paid for it. Ranking is purely arithmetic: nobody places you, the amount does.
- Is helpagoth a fund for goths?
No. helpagoth is not a fund and it does not collect money on behalf of goth people. It sells listings on a ranked board: you pay, your name and links appear, and your position reflects the amount you paid. No money is passed on to any individual, and nothing on the site promises otherwise.
- Is helpagoth a charity or a non-profit?
No. helpagoth is not a registered charity, trust, society or non-profit organisation. A payment is a commercial transaction for a promotional listing, not a donation, gift or charitable contribution. It is not tax-deductible and no tax-exempt receipt is issued.
- Where does the money go?
Sponsor-tile payments go toward the cost of running the site — hosting, payment processing and the domain. Leaderboard payments have no committed destination: the Terms are explicit that nothing on the site should be read as a promise that your money is applied to any particular person, cause, purchase or purpose. Treat a leaderboard payment as buying the listing itself, and nothing more.

- Does helpagoth help goths?
It offers visibility, not money. The showcase rail is free for anyone to add themselves to, and the leaderboard puts names, links and photos in front of everyone who visits. What helpagoth does not do is transfer money to individuals — a payment buys the payer their own listing, not support for someone else. If your goal is to fund a specific goth person or project, a general-purpose crowdfunding platform is the right tool for that, not this site.
- How do I get to number one?
Rank #1 is the only position with a premium: your cumulative total has to reach at least 5% above the current number one's total. Every other position needs just one cent more than the row below it, so you can join at any amount and land wherever that amount places you. Payments accumulate, so you can climb in steps rather than in one go.
- How much does it cost to join?
There is no fixed price and no minimum tier. You choose the amount, and the amount determines the position. The live board shows exactly what the next position up would cost before you pay anything.
- What currencies can I pay in?
US dollars, Indian rupees, euros or pounds sterling. Whatever you pay is converted to a USD-equivalent figure at the exchange rate on the day you pay, and that figure is then fixed permanently to your listing — so a later currency movement can never demote you.
- Can I stay anonymous?
Yes. Every listing chooses at payment time whether to be public or anonymous. An anonymous listing holds its rank and counts toward the total but publishes no name. Anonymity is applied when the board is read, so an anonymous name is not sitting in the published data.
- Can I get a refund?
Payments are final and non-refundable. That does not affect any refund right you have under applicable law, and if something failed technically — you were charged and no listing appeared — contact us and we will investigate and refund where appropriate.
- Do I have to be 18?
Yes. Everyone paying or appearing on this site must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract.
- Can brands advertise on helpagoth?
Yes, through sponsor tiles in the sponsors rail, bought in whole multiples of 5 in your chosen currency. A sponsor tile carries your brand to everyone browsing the board, earns no rank, and does not affect anyone's position.
